David Martin Eisler of Frederick, MD, formerly Somerset, died May 8, 2018 at Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, D.C. Born in Somerset on April 25, 1939, David was the son of the late Harvey and Hazel (Kimmel) Eisler. David was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Eisler and his brother, Roger Eisler, as well as his in-laws, Jim and Dolly Rock. David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce (Rock) Eisler, daughter Yvette, married to Mark Askine and daughter Annette, married to Craig Martell. David is also survived by three grandchildren, Sarah and Spencer Askine and Raeanne Martell. Mr. Eisler was a member of the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church in Somerset and a current member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick, MD. David served in the United States Army, Quarter Master Division. He was a member of the Somerset Volunteer Fire Department for 43 years, a member of the Scuba Team, and past member of the Somerset Roof Garden Barbershop Chorus. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 181. David was the owner of Somerset Glass and Frame for 32 years and, after retirement, worked part time for Findley’s Pharmacy. He loved singing, reading and swimming. He enjoyed attending all activities of his three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, PA on Saturday May 26, 2018 at 1 PM with Pastor Doug Knupp officiating.
