Earl Devon Coleman 97, of Somerset, died July 18, 2018 in Meadow View Nursing Center. Born January 9,1921, In Berlin, he is the son of the late Alton and Mabel (Hentz) Coleman. Also preceded in death by his wife, Violet (Vought) Coleman, daughter, Carol J. Coleman, son John A. Coleman, Sister Emma Grace Deaner, brother-in-law Richard Deaner, brother John F. Coleman and sister-in-law Annebelle Coleman. Survived by children: Earl Devon Coleman Jr. of Somerset, William Coleman and wife Lisa of Somerset, Rosemarie Younkin and husband Brian of Markleton and Ruth Kreger of Chester, VA. Grandchildren: Erin Coleman Tressler and husand Aric, Kristi Coleman Ansell and husband Allen, John Younkin and wife Susan, Daniel Younkin and wife Amanda, Michelle Rollins and husband Kevin, Casey Kreger and wife Kailee. Great Grandchildren:Courtney and Austin Ansell, Xavier, Levi and Quentin Younkin, Hunter, Charlie and Parker Rollins. Devon was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church, Rockwood. He was a farmer and a former coal miner for Melcroft Coal and worked at the state parks. He did Jailhouse Ministry and ministered at personal care homes, New Day and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Friends will be received from 2to 8 pm Friday in the Robert H. Halverson funeral Home and from 10 to 11 am Saturday where a service will immediately follow in the Trinity Reformed Church, Rockwood with Reverend Joe Penick officiating. Interment in Rockwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Trinity Reformed Church, Rockwood or the Messiah Lutheran Church New Centerville.
