George C. Stahl

George C. Stahl 82, of Somerset, died July 10, 2018 at In Touch Hospice House. Born May 27, 1936, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Clark W. and Etta B. (Hay) Stahl.  Also preceded in death by a grandson, Lucas Popernack, sister, Evelyn and brothers Ernest and William. Survived by his wife of  fifty-eight years, Audrey (Egolf) Stahl. Children: Dave and wife Diane, Kathy and husband Doug, Sandy and husband Mark, Tim and wife Sue and Vicki and friend Brian.  8  grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law: Peggy, Donna and Faye Egolf and Dorothy and Maxine Stahl and brother-in-law Ronald Egolf numerous nieces and nephews.  George was a member of the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church where he had served on Church Council. Also a  member of the Farm Credit Board, Tuesday Night Bowling League, Casebeer Cemetery Association, FFA and 4-H. He was awarded for growing potatoes and the Dairy  of Distinction Award. His farm was a Bicentennial Farm and he was a sixth generation family  farmer. He was also a US Army Veteran serving from 1954 to 1959. George was a true blood farmer dedicated to farming and his country. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 am Saturday in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church where services will immediately follow with Pastor Will Foster and Pastor Don Robson officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery with military honors.
