Ruth W. Williams

Ruth W. Williams 79, of Somerset, formerly Glencoe, died February 9, 2018 at In Touch Hospice House. Born December 11, 1938, in Stonycreek Twp., she is the daughter of the late Perry S. and Theresa Marie (Miller) Walker.  Also preceded in death by siblings: Clarence, Dorothy Daugherty, and Robert. Survived by children: Donald Eric Williams and wife Jeri of Windber and Deanna Bowers and husband William II of Somerset. Grandchildren: Brittney Rugg, Brandon Williams, Nita Williams, William  Bowers III and Brock James Bowers. Great Grandchildren: Bailan Rugg , Allura  Bredniak and Kacey Rugg. Sister of: Herbert Walker,  Elby Walker and Fred Walker and Mabel Revello  all of Somerset,  Janet Anderson and Calvin Walker both of Friedens, Richard Walker of Somerset and Donald Walker of Rockwood.  Ruth was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church where she was active in the Lutheran Women ‘s group and taught at their Pre School.  She was a 1956 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and a 1960 graduate of Hagerstown Medical Secretary School with high honors.  She worked as a medical secretary at York and Somerset Hospital  and for Dr. Houpt's office. She was also a house wife and a farm wife. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 am Saturday February 17th in the Faith  Lutheran Church were services will immediately follow with Reverend Ben Mandrick officiating.
