William J. Trent Sr. 88, of Friedens, passed September 28, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Born February 11, 1931, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Lloyd D. Trent and Jemima (Hay) Trent Yoder. Also preceded in death by twin sons, Larry and Barry, granddaughter Kimberly and great granddaughter Lynn Lee and siblings Ruth Ling and Joan Becker. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Zarefoss) Trent. Children; Carol Brant and husband Dan, Connie Martin and husband Robert, Sally Trent and friend Dale Miller, William Trent Jr. and wife Linda, Michael Trent and wife Christine and Eric Trent and wife Missy. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Brother of Darlene Zerfoss of Somerset, Donald Trent of Berlin and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and served for two years in the Army during the Korean War. He loved hunting and fishing and always working, cutting trees and logging. He worked in coal mines and the Crane and Briggs Factory for 45 years and 3 months and at the Turnpike Plaza. He loved being with his friends, and he had lots of them, his family, his dog Candy and all his cats and a special best friend, Neil Maust, who called him every day. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. There be no viewing. A special memorial service will be held at a later date with a private interment in Mizaph Cemetery.
