Barry R. Peters

Barry R. Peters, 79, of Somerset passed away on March 30, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.  Barry was born October 12, 1946 to William and Ethel (Barron) Peters-Gardner.  Barry is survived by his wife of 57 years Melanie (Shaulis) and children Brett and wife Shari, Travis and wife Michele all of Somerset.  Barry is also survived by his grandchildren Haylee Peters and fiancé Turner Paul, Sadie Peters and friend Randy Brewer Jr., Logan Peters and friend Cas Booher, Garrett Peters and friend Nicole Siciliano.  Surviving siblings include brothers Earl and wife Lois of Lewes, DE, William and wife Kay of Shippensburg, PA and sister Cathy Queer and husband Ock of Somerset.  Barry is also survived by his dog Millie.  Barry drove tanker truck for Luther P. Miller for 32 years and was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW, Jenner Rod & Gun Club, and New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club.  He enjoyed spending time with his family who he loved dearly, going hunting and fishing with the boys, deer frys and spending time with his buddies at the Eagles playing horses and arguing politics.   He was known as a “wheeler and dealer” and always selling something out of his pick-up truck.  All of his grandchildren agree one of their fondest memories is riding with grandpa on the four-wheeler when they were kids.  A special thank you to Dr. Yaros, Tina Barron and UPMC Hospice.  Services and internment will be private.   Arrangements under the direction of the Robert H.
