Charles Baker Obituary

Charles Irvin “Charlie” Baker, 70, of Bakersville, died April 27, 2021 at In Touch Hospice House. Born February 1, 1951, in Somerset, he is the son of the late John H. and Ruth L. (Nichol) Baker. Survived by children, Barbara J and Robert J. C. Baker. Grandchildren; Michael, Jonathan, Madison, Chole, Savannah, Autumn, Zaiden, Skylynn, Jaylynn, Calob and Xion. Also survived by brother Ronald Baker and wife Cindy and their children, Melissa and Kimberly and a sister Sandra Miller and husband Jack and several great nieces and nephews. Also best friends, Julie Lewis, Ben Svonavec, George Critchfield, Jenna Duvall, Mary Ann McGinnis and Duane Rhoads. Charlie knew lots of people and had lots of friends. He was a 1969 graduate of Somerset High School, a farmer, well worker, antique dealer and a truck driver for several different companies, the last one being James F. Barron Trucking, LLC and retired in 2015. He was a life member of the NRA, Somerset County Jeep Club, FOE 1801, VFW Post 554, New Baltimore Sportsman, Ferndale Sportsman, American Legion Post 941 and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Friends will be received from 1 to 6 pm Thursday and Friday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. At Charlies request, there will be no service.
