Connie Saylor Obituary

Connie Faye (Flickinger) Saylor, 84 of Somerset, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2026 at the Heritage, Somerset. Born on June 25, 1941 in Somerset, daughter of Curtis and Thelma (Shadeck) Flickinger. Connie graduated from Somerset Area High School in 1959. After graduating she worked at The Old Farm as a waitress on roller skates. Later then at Newberry's and with Betty Hauser's as a clerical assistant. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James, Edward and William Flickinger, sister Sally Walker, daughter Beth Ann Myers, granddaughter Carrie Beal and grandson Red (Nelson) Saylor, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband Clarence Nelson Saylor of 52 years and previously married to the late Jack Zimmerman Snyder. Loving mother to her surviving children Gregg (Kathy Berkebile) Snyder, Robert (Michele Grosholz) Snyder, Cindra (Bradley) Harbaugh, Nelson (Geraldine Rose/Baer) Saylor, Anita (Eddie) Persuhn, Angela Saylor (widow of Joseph Beck) and Laura (Tim) McGuire. Loving grandchildren Adam (Kandi Ansell) Snyder, Matthew Snyder, Austin Snyder, Nathan Snyder, Tyy Myers, Tayt Myers, Barry (Laurel Shumaker) Beal, Ryan Beal, Travis Beal, Alex Mosse, Marian (Mosse) Olech-Dehlia, Joseph Painter and Grace (Terry) Huston. Nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to her caretaker, Laurie Hay, for being there over the past several years. During her 52 years with Clarence, she helped on the family farm while working in her garden and multiple flower beds. She was a member of the Missionary Alliance Church for over 50 years and spent time helping with many programs at Scullton Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed spending her time outside, putting puzzles together during the winter months and cross-stitching multiple pictures for friends and families. There were countless times spent on the hill at the tower with family and friends having picnics. Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 15th from 12pm - 3pm at Halverson Funeral Home with a service following at 3:30pm. In accordance with her wishes a cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Humane Society of Somerset County, 204 Whitetail Road, Somerset, PA 15501 or The Ashley and Corby White Mission Fund, c/o World Venture, 20 Inverness Place East, Englewood, CO 80112-5622.
