Dean Oral Shaulis 87, of Somerset, entered eternal life on October 14, 2021. Born June 28, 1934 in Lincoln Township, he is the son of the late Oral B. and Myra C. (Stahl) Shaulis also preceded in death by brothers Leo F. Shaulis and Merle L. Shaulis, sister Eileen J. Walker and infant brothers, Clyde and Gerald. Survived by his loving wife Shirley J. (Felton) Shaulis whom he was married to for 65 years. Also survived by loving children Linda D. Zellem and fiancé Mark Moravecz and David D. Shaulis and wife Tammy. Grandchildren Justin B. Zellem married to Rachel, Lukas D. Shaulis and Alexa N. Shaulis. Great grandchildren Leo and Paul Zellem. He had great joy from spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the 1952 Class of Somerset High School. Dean was a lifelong truck driver and an owner operator hauling steel for many years. After retiring from trucking, he worked 19 years for J&J Truck Bodies. He had a love of farming and could grow anything, especially beautiful flowers. He enjoyed camping at Big Bear Lake. He was an avid hunter, holding a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed spending time at the 4D Hunting Camp. He was a lifelong member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church where he served as the President of the Christ Casebeer Cemetery Association and was past Council member. He was a member of the Over The Hill Gang, and a member of the Somerset Historical Society where he enjoyed volunteering at Mountain Craft Days. He enjoyed all social events. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Saturday in the ROBERT H. HALVERSON FUNERAL HOME and from 1 to 2 pm Sunday in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church where services will immediately follow with Vicar Allen Stump officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery.
