Donald Eugene Williams

Donald Eugene Williams, 82, of the Patriot, formerly Glencoe, died March 8, 2020. Born March 9, 1937, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Rodney Michael Williams and Marie (Slagle) Gurzenda and husband Andrew. Survived by children: Donald Williams and wife Jeri of Windber and Deanna Bowers and husband William II of Somerset. Grandchildren: Brittney Rugg, Brandon Williams, Nita Williams, William Lon Bowers III and Brock James Bowers. Great Grandchildren: Bailan Rugg, Allura Bredniak and Kacey Rugg.  1st cousins, Linda Pruter and husband Mark of Las Vegas, NV  and Patricia Rubin of Washington. Also close friend Mickey Rayman. Don was a Navy Veteran serving from 1955 to 1959 on the USS Oglethorpe and USS Washoe County.  He was  a 36 year employee of GTE as a switchman, a 1955 graduate of Somerset High School, former Northampton Twp. farmer and a National Weather Observer for North ampton Twp. Friends will be received from 1 to 2:30 pm Sunday March 15, 2020 in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will immediately follow with Roy A. Worsham officiating.
