Erma J. (Livingston) Jacobs, 89, of Somerset, died August 14, 2020 at her residence. Born December 25, 1930, in Jenner Twp., she is the daughter of the late Alonzo and Annie (Witt) Livingston. Also preceded in death by her husband, James M. Jacobs Sr., son James M. Jacobs, Jr., brother Kenneth Livingston and sisters Dorothy Durst and Shirley Taylor. Survived by children Roger, Thomas and Mark and grandson Bobby Jacobs all of Somerset. Also survived by sisters Madalyn Apgar and Emily
Stern and brothers Donald and Gene Livingston. She was a graduate of J.B.J. High School and Bob Jones University. She served in the Women’s Army Corp during the Korean War, including working at the Pentagon as a decoder. She was an active member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Jennerstown, serving as Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and missionary story teller. She also did readings on the Church’s Sunday morning radio program, the Tabernacle Hour on radio station WNTW-990 AM, from 1957 through the present time (presently as recordings). Erma served many years with the Ladies Shepherds Association and as Secretary for the PA Farm Assoc. Friends will be received from 9 to11 am Tuesday in the Laurel Hill Tabernacle where services will immediately follow with Reverend Gary Anderson officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery.
