Harold E. Shaulis, 77, of Niles, formerly Somerset, PA, died Dec. 24, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 15, 1942 , in Somerset, a son of Clark I. And Margaret M. (Snyder) Shaulis, and graduated from Somerset High School in 1960. He and his wife moved to Niles in October 1965. He was a group leader at ITT Grinnell Corp. in Warren for many years, and later worked at various Delphi Packard plants before retiring in 2006. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife, the former Gloria J. Saponsky, whom he married May 2, 1964; two daughters, Lorri Shaulis (Rick Powell) of Warren and Debora Flora (Mark) of Youngstown.; a granddaughter, Kayla Powell of Columbus; two grandsons, Matthew Powell of Warren and Christopher Flora of Youngstown; a brother, Kenneth Shaulis (Arlene) of Alexandria, VA; two sisters, Carol Miller (Glenn) and Shelby Defibaugh (Donald), both of Somerset; a brother-in-law, John J. Saponsky (Sally) of Harrisburg, PA. ; two aunts Ada Esherick of Somerset and Sarah Matkoskey of Troy, OH. ; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His parents are deceased. There will be no viewing. Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church with Reverend Jonathan Adams officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery.
