Helen P. Mearkle

Helen P. Mearkle 85, of Somerset, died January 16, 2021, at her residence. Born November 26, 1935, in Meyersdale, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Valentine) Brown. Also preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Putman and Webster Mearkle, and brothers Wilbur and Paul “Freddie” Brown. She is survived by children; Deborah Baker and husband Barry of Somerset, Brenda Cravens and husband James of Donegal and Ronald Putman and wife Michelle of Berlin. Also 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Helen was Lutheran by faith and attended the Roof Garden Christian Church. She was a 1953 graduate of Meyersdale High School and retired from PNC Bank as an Assistant Treasurer. Friends will be received from 5 – 8 pm Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 am Wednesday with Roy A. Worsham officiating. Interment in Husband Cemetery.
