Ina Lee “Poppy” Popernack 88, died July 30, 2022 at Countryside Personal Care Home. Born May 14, 1934 in Listie. She is the daughter of the late Cloyd and Elizabeth (Boyer) Weigle. Also preceded in death by her husband Theodore A. Popernack, an infant brother Larry a sister Jane Weigle and daughter-in- law Lugene Popernack. Survived by children: Randy Scott Popernack of Somerset, Lisa Beth Bruening and husband Barry of Friedens and Lori Lee Bashline and husband Robert of Delmont. Grandchildren: Ashley Smith, Damon McClintock and wife Veronica, Colin A. Bashline and Ethan Bashline. Great Grandchildren: Madison and Willow Smith. Ina was a lifelong member of the Listie Grace Brethren Church where through the years taught fourth grade Sunday School classes. Patroness for Sisterhood and recording secretary for the church. Graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, St Joseph’s College, N. Windham, Maine in 1982 and received her BS Degree in nursing. After graduation she began her nursing career at Cumberland Memorial Hospital. She was formerly employed at Somerset Hospital, Somerset State Hospital and Laurel Highland
SCI. Upon retirement she volunteered at the Somerset Hospital Gift Shop. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday in the ROBERT H. HALVERSON FUNERAL HOME where services will be held at 11 am Wednesday with Reverends Christopher Knight and Larry Weigle officiating. Interment in Berlin Cemetery.
