Jay Edward Blough Jr, 72, Somerset, passed away peacefully February 14, 2026 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a long struggle with an illness. Jay was born July 29, 1953, preceded in death by son Jesse Edward Blough, parents Jay E. Blough Sr., and Alverta (King) Blough, Father-in-law Joseph E. Wilson, brother Richard D. Blough, brother-in-law Barry Hause, nephews Jeffery Blough and Tacoma Blough. Jay is survived by his wife Kimberly (Wilson) Blough, sons Samuel Jay Blough and Matthew Joseph Blough and wife Kelley (Stahl) Blough, sisters Debra Hause, Kathleen Torley (Peter), Melissa Halle (Craig), brother Rodney Blough, Mother-in-law Carole J. Wilson, in-laws Belinda Mulhollen (Randall), Amanda Wilson (Joseph Peffer), Joseph Kent Wilson (Carole), Joseph Rutkowski. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and good friends Denny Koontz and Lynn Reffner. Jay was an avid hunter, fisherman, and wild mushroom forager. He was a long-time member of the Jenner Rod and Gun Club and Laurel Mountain Sportsman’s Club. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, holding many spirited discussions about the team. We imagine he is finally able to do all the things once again. Jay worked at the First Christian Church in Somerset as a custodian till his retirement in 2018. Jay was always full of lively stories of his past and will always be missed by family and friends. A special thank you to the all the Doctors and Nurses in the cardio/thoracic ICU at Shadyside Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in memory of Jay to a charity/foundation of your choice.
