Katie Mae Lane

Katie Mae Lane, 14, of Somerset passed away in the early morning of September 17, 2024 at her home.  Born in Somerset, Pa. July 26, 2010.  She is the daughter of Rebecca and William Lane.  Katie is preceded in death by her grandfathers Albert Hutzell, and William Jay Lane, great grandfathers John Lane, Herb Hochard, and Andy Mayak and great grandparents William and Mildred Wendle. Katie is survived by her parents, siblings Miles Lane and Ghyia Felgar, along with her niece Salah Robinson, uncle Johnathan Lane (Dede), Uncle and Aunt Robert and Monica Hutzell, and cousins.  Katie is also survived by her grandparents Ed and Cindy Mayak, and her great grandmothers Luanne Hochard and Erma Mayak, along with many extended family members.  Katie Mae loved every wild amusement park attraction, dancing around listening to her loud music, and hanging out with friends, especially her best friend Peyton Beeman.  You could always count on them being at the Caddy Shack riding the fast go carts or going to the Star Lite Roller Skating Rink every Friday.  Katie was a beautiful, care free soul who also enjoyed being with her family, shopping, and getting her nails done with her mother and sister.  Katie will be so deeply missed by everyone including her pets, Dogs Bear and Indica, guinea pig Bugsy, and cats Midnight, Socks, and her favorite animal, her cat Ollie who had passed away.  You would always see Katie at Starbucks every day getting her favorite drinks.  Katie always had a smile on her face and such a contagious laugh, a personality that brightened everyone around her and lit up the whole room when she walked in.  Sadly, Katie’s life was cut way too short due to being bullied.  Katie will always be remembered as being the most sweetest caring, and beautiful girl.  Katie Mae was the glue that held all of her family and friends together, she will be missed tremendously.  Family and friends will be received Sunday from 12-3 at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral home where services will be conducted at 3 with Jeannette Mayak officiating.
