Martha L. Stanga 89, of Somerset died September 20, 2025 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born March 8, 1936 in Rockwood, she is the daughter of the late Edward Charles and Edna Mary (Handwork) Miller. Also preceded in death by her husband John Stanga and siblings Ray Miller and Dorothy McClintock. Survived by children James Stanga and wife Gina of Sipesville and Jodie Basinger and husband Douglas of Fairhope. Grandchildren, Brett Stanga, Brianna Aultz, Devon and Lauren Basinger. Sister of Shirley Trella of Woodbridge and Robert E. Miler of Berlin. Martha was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. After she graduated she worked at the Pajama Factory in Somerset. She didn’t work until her children were in high school, then she started at Baker’s Lawn Ornaments and worked there until John started Stanga’s Fire Extinguishers and she was his secretary. She took some time off, then worked at Siemon’s as a courier. She loved to cook and bake and crochet. She baby sat many children and enjoyed taking care of them. She bowled many years on the woman’s league and with her husband John. She didn’t watch much TV but would sit in her chair and watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks that came to the feeders. We would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at Interim Health Care, especially Hannah, Amber & Tina for the care and compassion that they showed toward our mother.Friends will be received from 5 - 8 Friday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where a memorial celebration will immediately follow with Father Angelo Patti celebrant. Contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 433 W.
