Mildred Leona (Duppstadt) Jacobs 85, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 24, 2018 at Arbutus Park Manor. She was the loving wife of Frederick W. Jacobs; together they shared 58 years of marriage. Born September 18, 1932, in Somerset, she is the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Ruth (Cramer) Duppstadt. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Blair Shuman and sister, Eleanor Richards. Mildred is survived by son, Jeffrey Jacobs and wife Jo Ann of Davidsville, daughter, Lois Pudliner and husband Kenneth of Johnstown, daughter Linda Bettle and husband Thomas of Centre Hall. 6 grandchildren: Matthew Jacobs and wife Brandi, Benjamin Jacobs and fiancée, Thyra Berg, Sara McConnell and husband Brandon, Adam Pudliner and wife Emily, Christie McGilloway and husband Jason and Lauren Heintzelman and husband Seth. 3 great grandchildren, Grayson and Alexander Jacobs, and Jacob Heintzelman. She is also survived by brother, Clarence and wife Mardelle, sisters: Rita Polca and husband Daniel, Betty Bumgardner, Dorothy Fisher; sisters-in-law Nina Jacobs, Erma Jacobs and Martha Walker and a wealth of nieces and nephews. Mildred worked for the GTE Phone Company for 5 years before having her 3 children. She was also the ceramics instructor at Arbutus Park Manor for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, which was always a large group, baking, candy making and cake decorating. Mildred was a member of the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset, PA and a Girl Scout Leader. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 2 pm to 3 pm Sunday in the Christ Casebeeer Lutheran Church where a services will immediately follow with Reverend Douglas Knupp officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AseraCare Hospice, 100 CTC Drive, #110, Johnstown, PA 15904 or Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa St, Johnstown, PA 15904.
