Paul D. Bateman

Paul D. Bateman Sr. 82, of Central City, went to be with his Lord while resting in his home, surrounded by his family on February 24, 2018.  Born March 27, 1935, in Hyasota, he is the son of the late Harry and Grace (Brown) Bateman. Also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Marie (Glessner) Bateman, sister, Hilda Bateman and brothers-in-law: Dominic Perigo, Daniel Madonna and Glenn Skelton.  Survived by children: Paul Bateman Jr. and wife Tinna of Somerset, Theresa Manges and husband Joseph, Cathy Berish and husband Aaron, Christie Torquato and husband Bill and special daughter and #1 nurse, Julie Bateman all of Central City. 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Brother of Helen Perigo, Janice Hostetler Madonna ,Lorraine Hostetler Skelton, Carol Bateman Black  and husband Ronnie, Gary Hostetler and wife Deb, Ricky Hostetler and wife Jaye Ann and Donny Hostetler and wife Lois. Paul was a member of the Berlin Alliance Church, a retired truck driver and formerly the gate keeper at the Somerset County Fair and an Army veteran. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 am Wednesday with Pastor Phil Sinclair officiating. Interment  in Somerset County Memorial Park.
