Peggy “Peg” Stanczyk 92, of Somerset, died September 1, 2023 in Meyersdale. Born November 30, 1930, in Friedens, she is the daughter of the late Harry and Sue (Stutzman) Yoder. Also preceded in death by siblings: Rachel Ditzler, Betty Korns, Jack Yoder, Eugene Yoder, Marian Sivits and Peggy Thomas. Survived by children: Renee Trent of Somerset and John “Steve” Stanczyk and wife Connie (Brisbane) of Goodview, VA and brother Donald Yoder of Wilmington, DE. Grandchildren: Shannon Berkey and husband Scott, Trista Barron and husband Brian, Brandon Trent and wife Dana, Chastity Stanczyk and Rex Johnon and wife Leslie. Also 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Peg was a member of the VFW Auxillary where she spent many hours volunteering. She was retired from Big Drum where she was a supervisor/ machinist. She loved her grandchildren and was a hard worker and loved being outside. She has taught us so much about life, family and good work ethics that can never be replaced. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 am Friday in the Rockwood Alliance Church where services will immediately follow with Reverend Tim Dietrich officiating.
