Ray V. Sterner

Ray V. Sterner 89, of Rockwood, died May 23, 2021. Born January 25, 1932, in Black Twp., he is the son of the late Ralph and Fern (Knopsnyder) Sterner. Also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Arlene (Baer) Sterner and these children: Gloria Johnston of Berlin, Paul Sterner and wife Brenda of Berlin, Connie Shaffer of Somerset and Lorrie Bruner and husband Randy of Somerset. Also 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Brother of Lee Sterner of Somerset.  Ray was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and a life time member of the Rockwood Fire Department for 25 years. Formerly employed by Rockwood manufacturing and retired from PA Turnpike Commission. Friends will bel received from 6-8 Wednesday and 12 noon to 2 pm Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will immediately follow with Reverend Doug Burns officiating. Interment in Rockwood Cemetery.
