Obituary

Richard J. Stoner 83, of Rockwood, died July 2, 2023 at his residence. Born March 4, 1940  in Kingwood, he is the son of the late Theodore R. and Aretta Mae (Hetrick) Stoner. Also preceded in death by a daughter Barbara and an infant sister Gloria. Survived by his wife Cynthia (Milliken) Stoner, children: Linda Pontorero of Rockwood, Susan McClintock and husband Darrel of Berlin and Rich Stoner and wife Dawn of Rockwood. Grandchildren, Andrew Baker and Caitlin Stoner and great grandchildren Connor and Kaylee Baker. Brother of J. Phillip Stoner and wife Linda of Hagerstown, MD, Jane Wasson and husband Robert of Friedens and Margie Kelly and husband Charles of Friedens. Richard was an assistant girl’s basketball and volleyball coach and served on the Rockwood School Board for 16 years. He was former owner of Stoner Quality Water in Friedens and the S&S Sport Shop in Rockwood.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and out doors person. Services and interment will be private.
