Ronald Jay “Hoppy” “Hammer” Bittner, 81, of Somerset, died January 14, 2020. Born August 5, 1938, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Paul S. and Evelyn M.(Kimmel)Bittner. Preceded in death by daughter Tracy Bittner. Survived by his widow, the former Marjory Emert and these children: Pamela Costea, and Mr. Timothy & Terry Bittner, all of Somerset; grandchildren: Mrs. Amber Dickey, Lisa and Lori Bittner, Cory and Sierra Costea, all of Somerset; great-grandchildren: Marshall, Lydia, and Evelyn Dickey, Rhia and Harpper Trent, Ava and Coen Raley. Ronald is a former owner of Somerset Taxi. He was a truck driver for James Barron’s Trucking. Friends received from 2-4, and 6-8 Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 4 pm. with Reverends John and Linda Stoner officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
