Ronald Andrew Igou Jr.

Ronald Andrew Igou Jr. 73, of Indian Lake, PA died Wednesday September 13, 2023, at his father’s home, where he was under the care of Windber Hospice personnel and his soul mate Berenda Benny and others. He was the son of Ronald A. Igou Sr. and Faye Burwell Igou. He is survived by his father, sister Deborah Breth married to Randall Paddock of Florida and brother Jeffrey A. Igou married to Barbara Gusbar Igou, Listie, PA. He was an Uncle Ron to sixteen nieces and nephews and approximately thirty great nephews and nieces. He was proceeded in death by mother Faye B. Igou, sisters Jennifer A. Igou Lambert and Susan L. Igou. He was a 1967 graduate of Somerset High School. He went on to become a successful business owner of Igou Leather Designs in Somerset, PA as an expert leather craftsman and artist. He was contracted through Rockwood Manufacturing and developed unique methods of hand-sewn leather onto door pulls, creating a luxury product unlike anything else in the world sought-after by Assa Abloy “The Global Leader in Door Oening Solutions.” His work products are throughout USA and outside of the Unted States. Music was a large part of Ronald’s life, from playing guitar and harmonica, to collecting music. He was extremely generous to his friends and always had a quick “one liner” comeback. He was truly a brilliant, generous, one-of-a-kind Artisan. A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at the ROBERT H. HALVERSON FUNERAL HOME Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 2-4 pm where open comments and story telling are welcome.
