Ronald L. Saler

Ronald L. Saler Sr., 79, of Somerset, and formerly Rockwood, died July 20, 2018 at home in Somerset. Born July16, 1939, in Meyersdale, he is the son of the late Charles and Beulah (Yommer) Saler.  Also preceded in death by a sister, Aleda May Saler, brother, Charles Russell, daughter, Debra Jane Saler( Brocht) Mills and grandson, Luke Tressler.  Survived by his wife of 60 years, Dwella Jane (Hinzy) Saler.  3 children, Rhonda Hoover and husband Galen, Ronald Saler Jr. and wife Jody and Michael D. Saler  anf life partner Grace Mosgrave. Sister, Charlotte Zorn and husband Robert.  Grandchildren: Rama Hoover, Renee Hoover and life partner Mark Ohler, Amanda Sigmond and husband Jeremy, Roxanne Manners and husband Justin, Rebecca Moore and husband Jamie, Michael Saler and wife Sarah, Chelsey M. Meekins and husband Carlyle.  Also 19 great grandchildren. Retired employee of the Department of Transportation, Rockwood Borough, owner and proprietor of Saler Parts and Service, Salers Auto Sales of Rockwood and former EMT with Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department. Ronald enjoyed spending time with family, sitting on the porch and watching life, camp fires and good food. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm Monday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 am Tuesday with Reverend Randall Bain officiating.  Interment in Rockwood Cemetery. Condolences may be made at www.halversonfuneralhome.com.
