Ruth L. Bowersox

Ruth L. Bowersox 91, of Friedens, died December 29, 2020 at Shaffer’s Assisted Living. Born August 23, 1929, in Clarion County, she is the daughter of the late Craig and Sara (Miller) Blair. Also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Bowersox and a brother Paul. Survived by children, Sharon L. Blasko and husband Joseph of New Centerville, Kenneth R. Bowersox and wife Lou  Ann Leer, Ross E. Bowersox and wife Janie Pollock, David C. Bowersox and wife Lexi Friedline and Beverly Tirko and husband Donald all of Friedens. 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great   grandchild. Ruth was a member of the Somerset  Church of the Nazarene, missionary president for 22 years, taught Sunday school and Bible school, sang in the church choir and was a member of the W.D.S. Her favorite bible verse was Isaiah 40, 3-9. She baked and decorated cakes for weddings and occasional cakes, and taught cake decorating at several locations. She also loved to read, crochet and do crossword puzzles. Friends will be received from 3 to 4 pm Saturday in  the  Somerset Nazarene Church where a service will immediately follow with Reverend Stephen Zerkel, Reverend Robert Henderson and Timothy Bowersox officiating.  Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Somerset Church of the Nazarene, 382 W.
