Ruth Coleman

Ruth (Ash) Coleman, 87, of Somerset, passed away February 1, 2022. Ruth was preceded in death by parents David and Minnie (Snyder) Ash  and her husband, Kenneth Coleman. Also preceded in death by siblings Glenn, Roy, Binnie and David Jr.  Survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Coleman) Sutton, grandchildren Paul Sutton and Blake Sutton, and great granddaughter Fredricka Sutton. She graduated from Somerset High School and Slippery Rock College with dual degrees in Physical Education and Science. Former educator at Elderton and Jenner Boswell Joint Schools. Retired in 1994 from Somerset Area Schools.  From cheerleading advisor to Girls Basketball Coach, to assisting at-risk youth, she always went above and beyond her role in the classroom. Past President of Somerset Junior Hospital Auxillary and Somerset Area Education Association. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Services will be private with interment at Somerset County Memorial Park. Sincere gratitude to all of those who stayed in touch, especially her buddy Cole Suter.
