Ruth E. Johnson

Ruth E. Johnson, 96, of Somerset passed away January 4, 2023 at the Patriot.  Born August 29, 1926 in Lewistown, she is the daughter to the late William E. and Alfreda Mae (Snyder) Williams.  Also preceded in death by husband William E. Johnson, sister Dorothy Heiple, brothers Donald, William, and Herbert Williams.  Ruth is survived by her children Jerry Johnson of Sacramento Ca, Cindy Johnson and Marcia Johnson both of Somerset, grandchildren Andrew and Kristen Johnson, Elizabeth Etchinson, great granddaughter Mabel, and sister Zola Baker of Listie. She was a member of the Listie Grace Brethren Church, retired school teacher where she taught in the Mt Pleasant School District for over 19 years, a 1944 graduate of Somerset Township High School, and a supporter of various Christian organizations.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 with Reverend Christopher Knight officiating.  Internment will be at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont Pa.
