Ruth Shockey

Ruth Shockey, 84, of Somerset, died September 19, 2018 at The Patriot.  Born November 14, 1933, in Somerset Twp., she is the daughter of the late Wilbur and Alverta (Whipkey) Ream. Also preceded in death by a grandson Eric Shaffer.  Survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Shockey and these children: Alan Shockey of Bethel Park, Sharon Shaffer of Tampa, FL. And Neil Shockey of Glendora, CA, also three grandchildren. Sister of Rhea Holder of Fayetteville, NC and Judy Swank of Somerset. Ruth was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and Trinity Chapter # 138 O.E.S. where she had served as Chaplin for many years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 12 noon to 1PM Sunday in the Faith Lutheran Church where services will immediately follow with Reverend Ben Mandrick officiating. Interment  in Somerset County Memorial Park. An Eastern Star service will be held at 6:30 pm Saturday in the funeral home.
