Sara Maxine Hay 92, of Bakersville, died peacefully at home on June 2, 2023. Born April 11,1931 in Somerset, she is the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Miller) Flick. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Jay Lloyd Hay whom she married in 1953 and who died in August 2020. Sister Frances Resh and infant brother Jacob Albert Flick. Survived by children: Richard Hay married to the former Kathy Brocht, Laurie Noll and husband Dennis, Eric Hay married to the former Shelley Bittner all of Somerset and Susan Will and husband Bob of Dunkirk, MD. Grandchildren: Ashtin, Lauren, ChelseaBaer (Matt), Michael, Matthew (Sarah), Heather, Tyler, Riva and Vincent. Great grandchildren Colson, Caleb, Levi and Lucas. Sister of Ruth Groff, currently of Somerset and Lois Peters, Lewes, DE. Also numerous nieces and nephews that spent many fun summers on the Flick family farm and best friends Madeline Stairs and Nellie Wolk. Sara was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and wher served as an adult Sunday school teacher for 30 years, Meals On Wheels vounteer, scouting den mother and loved baking and sewing and helping others. She was also a 1950 graduate of Somerset High School. Friends will be received from 4-8 Monday in the ROBERT H. HALVERSON FUNERAL HOME and from 1 – 2 pm Tuesday in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church where services will immediately follow with Reverend David Brady officiating. Interment in Samuels Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Mt.
