Thomas Dean Barron

Thomas Dean Barron 87, of Jefferson Twp., died September 7, 2024 at UMC Altoona. Born March 14, 1937, in Jefferson Twp., he is the son of the late Leroy and Cora (Shaulis) Barron. Also preceded in death by sons Joseph and Barry, brothers and sisters Robert, Margaret, twins, Jack and Jim, Donna Lee, Fred and Linda. Survived by his wife Ruth (Johnson) Barron to whom he was married 65 years, children: Robert Barron and Debra (Benson), Mark Barron and Lorraine (Scheffel), Michael Barron and Tammy Schrock and husband John. Daughter-in-law Jean (Welsh) Barron LaFromboise. Grandchildren: Joseph, Kassie, Bailey, Brett, Dustin, Shay, Dylan, Levi and Gunner. Great grandchildren: Evander, Braelynn, Luke, Maddox, Rowen, Kacey, Bryer, Lane, Clay, Wyatt, Walker, Emmett, Kinsley, Rhett and Leroy.  Tom was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, a Somerset High School graduate and a Jefferson Twp. Farmer. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 am Wednesday in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Reverend Josh Spangler officiating. Interment in Lavansville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Mt.
