Thomas F. Pope

Thomas F. Pope 88, of Somerset, died December 7, 2020 in Somerset. Born August 26, 1932, in McKeesport, he is the son of the late Thomas and Bertha M. (Waldbaum) Pope. Also preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Smart) Pope, grandson Michael T. Pope, brother Harry Pope and sister Sandra Dewalt. Survived by children: Thomas R. Pope of Pittsburgh, Charles R. Pope of Derry, David Bell of Florida, Mary E. Hancock of New Eagle, PA, Susan A. Leer of  Somerset and Daniel W. Pope of McKeesport. Grandchildren: Bernadette Schmeltz, Charles B. Pope, Elizabeth A. Riffe, Lawrence W. Latta, Amanda L. Leber, Jared D. Hancock, Neil M. Hancock, Brian Bell, Lindsay Bell, Casey Sadano and Christie Chambers and a brother Sidney Pope of McKeesport.  Thomas was a mechanist for  National Carbide and a member of the American Legion and the United Steel Workers Union. A private graveside service for the family will be held at 12 noon Friday in the Jefferson Memorial Park with Reverend William Carpenter officiating. Arrangements under the direction of the Robert H.
