Violet Lloyd

Violet R Lloyd, Somerset, passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Somerset Senior Living. She would have celebrated her 104th birthday in January. Born January 4, 1922 to the late Otto and Mary Rufener. She grew up in Monroe County, Ohio. After attending business school, she moved to Pittsburgh where she worked for a group of accountants, and met her future husband, Edward Lloyd. Violet is preceded in death by her husband who passed away July 21,1975 and her sister Iris Workman and daughter-in-law Audrene "Dena" Lloyd. She is survived by three sons, Edward O. Lloyd of Somerset, David Lloyd and wife Becky of Mystic, CT. and Dwight Lloyd and wife Michele of Somerset., grandchildren Matthew (Megan) Lloyd, Jourdan Lloyd (Mat) O’Grady, Nathan (Kristin) Lloyd, Michael (Allyson Wilhard) Lloyd and Jason Lloyd. She has six great grandchildren and a brother Dean Rufener. Violet was a cashier for the Baltimore Life Insurance Company, a member of Eastern Star and Calvary Global Methodist Church. Violet was caring, fiercely independent and resilient. She had a long and blessed life and will be deeply missed by her family. Friends will be received from 6-8 Friday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the Calvary Global Methodist Church with Reverend Roger Howard officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
