Vivian E. Corbaci 88 of Somerset passed away peacefully at her home on April 28, 2024. Born July 22, 1935 in Meyersdale, she is the daughter of the late Roy and Alta (Mills) Mickey. Also preceded in death by her husband Anthony Corbaci, brother Dr. Dale Mickey and wife Elaine, cousins Guy Brougher and Ray Scott, uncle Jacob Mills, and grandson Gererd. She is survived by children Dennis Corbaci and wife Angela, Stephanie Corbaci and husband Daniel Ross, and beloved family member Angela Dravis. Grandchildren: Wesley, Stephen, Carmella, Dennis Jr., Angeline, Jacob, Gabriel, Gianna Corbaci, Isabella Ross and Samson Ross and 11 great grandchildren. Also, cousin Dean “Doc” Mickey and family, niece Lisa (Mickey) Seever, and nephew Mike Mickey. She was a graduate of Rockwood High School in 1953 and Findlay College of Ohio in 1957 with a B A degree in English and Education. She worked for the Department of Welfare as a case worker, then Vivian taught at the Patriot Street School and Maple Ridge where she then retired after 35 plus years. She loved God, family, walking, the theater, music and animals, especially her basset hounds. She was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a true leader in prayer, as well as a founding member of the Humane Society of Somerset County. Her family built and started the Mickey Funeral Home in Rockwood. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Friday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am Saturday in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Father Angelo Patti celebrant. Committal in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Vivian’s wishes are that contributions be made to Humane Society of Somerset County, PO Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501. Condolences may be made at halversonfuneralhome.com.
