Wilbur Z. Shaffer

Wilbur Z. Shaffer, 75. Of Somerset, went to the Lord, at his home, on August 12, 2022. Wilbur was born in Somerset on April 28, 1947. He was married to the former Janet (Glass) Shaffer, of Stonycreek Township for 48 years. Preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Emma (Zerfoss) Shaffer, infant sister, infant daughter, Sharon Ann and wife Janet. He is survived by children, William, married to Carol (Beam), Friedens, Sandra (Richard) Weigle, Berlin and Susan (David) Beck, Lancaster. Grandchildren, Aleaha Weigle (Dustin Cox), Alyssa (Matthew) Meyers both of Berlin, Ian, Brayden and Makayla Beck of Lancaster, Michelle (Robbie) Moorecroft, Friedens, Hope (Mazin) Albert, Cranberry. Great grandchildren, Colson and Kaison Meyers , Berlin and Kylie and Jordan Weigle, Berlin. Formerly employed with Sherer Oil Company, Tunstall Fuel Company and Dependable Lawn Care before having his own lawncare service in 2012. Wilbur enjoyed spending time with his dog Butch, watching westerns and seeing his grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be made by Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home with a memorial graveside service for friends and family at 2 pm Monday in the Pike Cemetery, Brotherton, with Pastors John and Linda Stoner officiating.
