Anna B. “Bert” Adams, 87, of Somerset, died March 26, 2024, at Countryside Personal Care Home. Born July 20, 1936, in Meyersdale, she is the daughter of the late Karl Christner and Sallie (Gnagey) Christner Martz. She is also preceded in death by an infant son, Ira Richard, stepfather, Elmer L. Martz, sister Hilda Fink and stepbrother Kenneth Martz. Survived by husband, Ira Richard Adams, daughters, Amy (Gary) Weimer and Cristine Sanner. Grandchildren, Daniel (Emily) Weimer, Andrea (Grant) Crawford, Kelsey (Andy) Pletcher, Anthony (Carissa) Sanner, Evan (Ashley)Sanner and Samuel (Bailey) Sanner and eleven great grandchildren. Also survived by a sister Bette Firl of Meyersdale. Bert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Somerset where she served on council, the altar guild, taught Sunday school, and served on various other committees. She also served on the board of Camp Sequanota for several years. She was past member of Somerset County Soroptimist Club and served as secretary. She graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School in the class of 1954. Bert worked at Woullard’s Jewelry in Meyersdale, and also as a secretary for State Farm Insurance, Somerset, and Dr. James Killius, Berlin. She then was office manager at WVSC Radio in Somerset, working alongside her husband, until her retirement. Bert loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends and enjoyed many vacations, bus trips, and cruises. Bert and Dick enjoyed spending time with their family and friends at their cottage at Lake Stonycreek and during winter months in Florida. Heartfelt thanks to Justine and the wonderful staff at Countryside Personal Care Home and the caring staff of Viaquest Hospice. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, April 5th at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 10 – 11 am Saturday, April 6th at Trinity Lutheran Church, where a memorial service will immediately follow with Reverend Ruth Jensen officiating. Interment in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 918 Tayman Ave., Somerset, PA 15501 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
